For print issues, our reading periods are April through May and October through November. We read flash fiction, published online, year-round. Simultaneous submissions are fine, but notify us in the cover letter, and contact us promptly if your work is accepted elsewhere. Please include a brief cover letter with your submission; it doesn't help your chances of publication, but it is good manners. Fiction submissions are open to any topic or theme. Nonfiction submissions should explore artisan culture. Visual art should also reflect artisan culture or artisan practice in some way. We are not open to unsolicited poetry or memoir at this time. We try to respond to submissions and queries in a prompt manner. Feel free to contact the editor if you haven’t heard anything after two months. At this time, payment is two contributor copies, but we hope to someday offer honorariums--similar to money.

Flash Fiction

We accept submissions of Flash Fiction year round. Submit up to 3 stories in a single attachment. Each story should not exceed 1,000 words. Flash Fiction is published the first week of every month on Cheek Teeth, the blog of TRACHODON Magazine. Flash submissions may occasionally be considered for the print journal.
